Would he show up on time with the team bats and balls? Always a question that beguiled the team. As a left fielder sporting a Jimi Hendrix style bandanna, Moorey Dog seldom missed a fly ball – or a chance to talk about it. As a batter, he belted long fly out after long fly out, making him look good – which is what he mostly cared about. Moorey Dog never quite got over Fontaine insisting the team be named after him instead of Moorey – an issue that keeps Fontaine and Moore arguing to this day.
